Clients - Yorke Peninsula Community Transport

But as a community-service organisation supported by voluntary effort and public funds, we must ensure all clients are assessed prior to receiving services.

Client eligibility

Before services can be received, potential clients are assessed either directly by contacting the YP Community Transport office or if you are over 65, you can request services from us through the My Aged Care Portal www.myagedcare.gov.au

BRONZE

Health Bus clients are…
Residents of Yorke Peninsula and the Copper Coast, Travelling to a pre-arranged medical appointment, visiting someone in hospital, or as companion to a client who is able to pay the cost of the trip.
Community Bus users are…
Residents of Yorke Peninsula and Copper Coast and are able to fund cost of transport.

SILVER

SILVER SERVICE: Using a YP Community Transport car. Priorities are for frail, aged, or younger people with a disability and are able to fund the cost of transport.

GOLD

GOLD SERVICE: To have a volunteer drive your own car, you must … own a comprehensively-insured, inspected and roadworthy vehicle, meet costs such as fuel and parking and only a small contribution to the service is expected.

Reimbursements available

The South Australian Patient Assistance Transport Scheme provides country patients and approved escorts with some reimbursement of the cost of travel and accommodation when they are required to travel over 100 kilometres (each way) to receive specialist medical treatment.
